Ethereum trades at just under $2,700 as validators prepare for Glamsterdam’s Sepolia activation, which could lift its price prediction target. The test’s 200 million gas limit could show whether larger blocks are technically viable.
Prysm released version 7.2.1 late yesterday to address a configuration issue ahead of the test. The update lets validators participate in the 200-million-gas trial; older configurations may continue producing blocks near 60 million. Activation itself is scheduled for October 6 at 13:53:36 UTC.
ETH is also consolidating beneath resistance, while reported weekly net outflows from U.S. spot Ether ETFs add a demand-side headwind. The Fed’s September meeting minutes on October 7 and U.S. CPI on October 14 could move yields and the dollar, with tighter financial conditions typically weighing on crypto risk appetite. The technical setup remains the near-term price filter.

The good scenario unfolds if support holds, buyers reclaim the $2,705–$2,730 supply area, and a decisive close above $2,800 strengthens the breakout setup. The Sepolia trial may improve confidence if validators handle larger blocks reliably, but inconsistent configurations could muddy the readout. ETF-flow also bears watching: persistent outflows would leave a technical breakout with less demand behind it. For now, the $2,800 level matters.

ETH’s near-term chart is constructive only if support holds; the ceiling is still close.
