Economy has re-opened. Starting this wk, all ICON team members are back in the office 100% focused on work. Economy has re-opened. This is the result from strong leadership atop and highly educated citizens actually working together.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Indeed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldometers.info\/coronavirus\/\">per data from Worldometers,<\/a> South Korea has reported a total of nine cases in the past 24 hours, with the curve effectively flat. For some context, Singapore, which has a total of 9,125 cases, saw a 1,111 increase in cases on the same day.<\/p>\n<h2>Crypto industry still suffering<\/h2>\n<p>Although the situation is getting better for ICON and presumably other crypto startups based in areas with minimal or shrinking COVID-19 outbreaks, other industry firms have been getting railed by the pandemic, namely the economic effects of it.<\/p>\n<p>Just yesterday, it was <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/26131\/more-layoffs-at-consensys\">reported by Decrypt that ConsenSys<\/a> \u2014 the Ethereum-focused development studio founded by Joe Lubin \u2014 had laid off approximately 14 percent of its workforce, equivalent to 90 individuals. Lubin cited &#8220;extraordinary uncertainty&#8221; forcing the company to &#8220;conserve resources,&#8221; though this was the company's second 14 percent layoff in two months.<\/p>\n<p>This is the latest in a series of layoffs in the crypto space.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/big-crypto-firms-are-purportedly-laying-off-staff-but-others-are-on-hiring-sprees\/\">per previous reports from CryptoSlate<\/a>, Bitcoin.com, crypto\u00a0<span class=\"glossaryTerm\" data-title=\"Mining\" data-content=\"A process where algorithms use mathematical function to guess the hash of a block.
