Owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban<\/a>, said he will issue nonfungible tokens (<\/span>NFTs<\/span><\/a>) as tickets for his team\u2019s games this coming season.<\/span><\/p>\n

As unique digital assets, including various forms of digital art and culture, NFTs are represented by a code recorded on a blockchain digital ledger, which records transactions and as such, enables the tracking of their ownership and validity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mavericks NFT tickets and royalties<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The question isn\u2019t if the Mavericks are going to use NFTs for issuing game tickets, but when, Cuban <\/span>told<\/span><\/a> Gary Vaynerchuk in a podcast.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will start doing it this coming season, where we'll issue an NFT after you\u2019ve chosen your ticket on Ticketmaster or whatever,” Cuban said.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to him, issuing NFTs in such a way, enables them to create an associated value for Mavericks tickets and to keep adding to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no limit to the value we can add to it,\u201d said Cuban about his NFT ticket plan that will enable not only Mavericks fans to buy tickets and resell them but it will also make it possible for the team to continue making royalties on them.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Cuban, the \u201chard part\u201d of <\/span>making it rain<\/span><\/i> with NFTs is figuring out how to move them closer to the origination of the ticket purchase, which will take some time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cuban\u2019s plan to boost the Mavericks\u2019 ticket revenue with NFTs isn\u2019t his first shot in the NFT game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
