href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JPfMX5SKIFc&t=1s\">revealed<\/a> in a recent <i>Stansberry Research<\/i> interview with Daniela Cambone when will the price of <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\">Bitcoin<\/a> appreciate dramatically, and why.<\/p>\n<p>The Shark Tank star, also known as Mr. Wonderful, explained why he sold his exposure to \u201cdirty\u201d Bitcoin miners and where he reinvested the capital.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cDirty\u201d Bitcoin miners<\/h2>\n<p>Until the market is finally regulated, institutional investors are barred from direct cryptocurrency exposure, and are increasingly buying into Bitcoin equity as a proxy, explained O\u2019Leary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey buy the equities of public Bitcoin mining companies\u2013Marathon, Riot, etc,\u201d he specified, explaining these miners keep the majority of mined Bitcoin on their balance sheets, so as time passes their stocks are trading with the volatility of the crypto itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can watch these stocks go up and down almost in complete proxy to Bitcoin,\u201d he said, pointing to a recent Larry Fake ESG mandate that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/01\/18\/business\/dealbook\/fink-blackrock-woke.html\">came out<\/a> of BlackRock\u2013the largest manager of sovereign wealth and pension plans.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Wonderful clarified that BlackRock demands these companies to have an ESG sustainability mandate \u201cthat can be audited,\u201d which could put some Bitcoin miners in a rough spot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bitcoin mining industry started buying carbon credits to try and make them look like they\u2019re green\u2013but it\u2019s completely unauditable,\u201d he said, adding that \u201cif you were to audit one of those companies\u2013they\u2019re gonna be way offside.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>O\u2019Leary said he\u2019s been \u201cselling Marathons, selling Riots, selling all of these public mining companies,\u201d as he is certain they are \u201cgoing to get crushed\u201d this year, with all of their \u201cinstitutional following\u201d backing out.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBitcoin will be mined in perpetuity somewhere,\u201d concluded O\u2019Leary, saying he is not very concerned about crypto mining legislation influencing the price.<\/p>\n<h2>The Solution<\/h2>\n<p>According to Mr. Wonderful, \u201cthe solution\u201d is rising in countries like Canada, Norway, as well as across Upstate New York and West Texas.<\/p>\n<p>He clarified that \u201cthese new generation miners\u201d are setting up their Bitcoin mining operations beside clean energy sources\u2013including hydroelectric, wind power and nuclear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason they are doing that is there\u2019s no carbon in that equation\u2013they don\u2019t have to get audited, they don\u2019t have to buy carbon credits, they don\u2019t have to worry about it at all, and they are doing the same thing,\u201d he noted, saying that he took the capital that he made by \u201cselling all those dirty miners\u201d and put it into these new companies.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNow I know with certainty that every coin I own is mined sustainably,\u201d he concluded, as he warned investors to \u201cstay out of the dirty miners.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf they tell you they\u2019re buying carbon credits\u2013run for the hills,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<h2>The price of Bitcoin<\/h2>\n<p>O\u2019Leary also revealed that besides teaming up with United Arab Emirates (UAE) partners to invest in the Norway mining facility, he also took advantage of Facebook\u2019s 30% price correction and \u201cparked some capital\u201d there.<\/p>\n<p>The Shark Tank star also mentioned that WonderFi Technologies, which he\u2019s a shareholder of, recently increased its footprint in Canada\u2013acquiring Bitbuy, the first regulated crypto exchange in the country.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou want to talk about Bitcoin going to $100,000, $200,000, $300,000\u2013it\u2019s going to be when institutions can finally buy it,\u201d argued O\u2019Leary, adding that \u201cat some point in the next two to three years, the US regulator is going to rule on cryptocurrencies.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He pointed out that Bitcoin could be considered as a software, and institutions are keen on owning software\u2013they own Microsoft, they own Google.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it\u2019s very easy for them to get their heads around it as soon as it\u2019s compliant. They will buy one to three percent.
