After seven consecutive weeks of inflows, crypto investment products <\/span>recorded<\/span><\/a> significant outflows last week, according to the latest report by institutional crypto fund manager CoinShares.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report which analyzes weekly flows into cryptocurrency funds suggests regulatory concerns and geopolitical turmoil have diminished investor interest in both the Americas and Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

$80 million of the outflows derived from North America\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Beginning at the start of last week, $80 million of the outflows derived from North America could be interpreted as a <\/span>response<\/span><\/a> to the US Presidential Executive Order to analyze the crypto sector, according to the report.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGiven there has been little price response and that outflows of $30 million were also seen in Europe, highlights the reasons are unclear,\u201d the institutional crypto fund manager noted, adding that both regulatory concerns and geopolitical unrest played a part in corroding the interest in crypto assets in the week ended March 11.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

[cs_coin]BTC[\/cs_coin] recorded $70 million in outflows last week\u2013\u201d off the back of low volumes\u201d\u2013 the report noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to CoinShares:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInvestment products traded $1 billion last week compared the average $1.24 billion, representing just 5% of total Bitcoin trading volumes.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Multi-asset investment products remain popular<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On a relative basis, [cs_coin]ETH[\/cs_coin] investment products saw the largest outflows last week\u2013totaling $51 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ethereum outflow volumes year-to-date represent 1.2% of assets under management (AuM), the report pointed out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, altcoin investment products flows were mixed last week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zooming into individual asset funds revealed that [cs_coin]SOL[\/cs_coin], [cs_coin]XRP[\/cs_coin], and [cs_coin]DOT[\/cs_coin] all recorded minor outflows\u2013totaling $0.3 million, $0.7 million, and $0.9 million respectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, [cs_coin]ADA[\/cs_coin] and [cs_coin]LTC[\/cs_coin] investment products saw minor inflows of $0.2 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

That said, multi-asset investment products saw inflows totaling $12 million, while blockchain equity investment products attracted $4.1 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to CoinShares, both multi-asset and blockchain equity investment products persist as \u201cthe most popular amongst investors\u201d\u2013 with inflow volumes representing 3.2% and 6.7% of AuM respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
