Digital Currency Group (DCG<\/a>) announced that its portfolio company, Merit Circle, will launch a gaming subnet called BEAM on the Avalanche (AVAX<\/a>) network.<\/p>\n

The gaming subnet is aimed at hosting a “variety of games and products to shape the future of gaming,” as mentioned in DCG's announcement tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

BEAM<\/a> \u2014 founded by Merit Circle DAO \u2014 describes itself as a “sovereign network focused on gaming.”<\/p>\n

According to a Merit Circle medium post<\/a>, BEAM is set to “allow game developers to deploy their games on-chain seamlessly” \u2014 utilizing “quick, simple and minimal fees” via the Avalanche network.<\/p>\n

“The value that Beam adds resembles a sword that cuts on both sides. Slicing through the problems game developers are currently facing, Beam offers anything they may need on their quest of building a game using blockchain technology.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The recent appointment of Brandon Aaskov as Merit Circle's CTO will see him lead the development of BEAM. Aaskov shared his vision for BEAM:<\/p>\n

“Beam is meant for gamers and game developers alike: to take away the complexity and still offer true ownership and easy control of that ownership.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In addition to the initial titles and products previously mentioned, more studios, partners, apps\/dapps\/utilities, and infrastructure are either planned or yet to be announced.<\/p>\n

Many games will launch as they are ready, in accordance with their own release schedules.<\/p>\n

Building with AVAX<\/h2>\n

By collaborating with Avalanche, the Merit Circle DAO will benefit from the support of their extensive development community \u2014 as well as their business and marketing expertise.<\/p>\n

This partnership is set to significantly enhance BEAM's chances of attracting potential talent to build on its network \u2014 including users and gamers who will be able to fully utilize the range of products available in its ecosystem.<\/p>\n
