The country's inflation surpassed 30% in early 2022 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/277044\/inflation-rate-in-turkey\/\">ended<\/a> the year at 72.31%. These factors motivated the Turks to turn to crypto, and the daily trading volume reached an average of $1.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina's inflation rate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/news\/argentina-ended-2022-with-94-8-inflation-highest-in-32-years-official-01673551508\">was 94.8%<\/a> in 2022, the highest percentage since 1991. The decreasing value of the Argentine peso might have pushed the citizens to adopt crypto as it did in Turkey. The country proved its interest in crypto when a Bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/strikes-bitcoin-wallet-is-1-in-argentina-in-less-than-a-week\/\">became<\/a> the number one application in Argentina within a week of its launch.<\/p>\n<p>The situation is the same in the Philippines \u2014 the country's <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.senate.gov.ph\/publications\/SEPO\/AAG%20Inflation25Jan2023.pdf\">inflation<\/a> sat at 8.1% in December 2022, which reflects a 107% increase from the 3.9% recorded in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turkey recorded the highest growth in crypto ownership, with 27.1% from July-September 2021 to July-September 2022, according to GWI Research.
