South Korean gaming giant Wemade (WEMIX<\/a>) will use Chainlink's (LINK<\/a>) Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to <\/span><\/span>power an interoperable Web3 gaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n

According to an Oct. 3\u00a0<\/span><\/span>statement<\/span><\/span>, Wemade will power its Unagi<\/a> omnichain ecosystem with Chainlink CCIP. The <\/span><\/span>Unbound Networking & Accelerating Growth Initiative (UNAGI) is Wemix's initiative to build a unified ecosystem by integrating and facilitating seamless interactions between blockchains to boost their adoption.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, unagi <\/span><\/span>supports<\/span><\/span> 8 major blockchains, including Ethereum (ETH<\/a>), Polygon (MATIC<\/a>), Arbitrum (ARB<\/a>), BNB Smart Chain, Optimism (OP<\/a>), and Avalanche (AVAX<\/a>), amongst others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Wemade's choice of Chainlink's CCIP stems from the protocol's robust security measures, a response to the rising threats facing cross-chain protocols. This security is underpinned by the Risk Management Network, which maintains continuous vigilance over potential illicit cross-chain activities.<\/p>\n

This collaboration will grant exclusive authority to Chainlink's CCIP, empowering Unagi as a cornerstone within the omnichain initiative. Consequently, the CCIP will play a pivotal role in constructing the omnichain protocol, integrating both on-chain and off-chain functionalities.<\/p>\n

Chainlink becomes a COURT member<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides that, Wemade also revealed that Chainlink Labs has become the first official member of its Certified Organizations for Unagi Round Table (COURT) group. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

COURT is a consortium committed to the research, development, and innovation of an omnichain ecosystem. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Chainlink will collaborate with Wemade to develop cross-chain systems connecting multiple blockchain networks. Subsequently, this system would be used for easy communication as well as secure transfer of assets between blockchains.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Partnership to boost web3 gaming<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Speaking on the partnership, Wemade CEO Henry Chang disclosed that both companies have a shared vision for the on-chain future. <\/span><\/span>He added that both companies aim to accelerate the expansion of a more connected, CCIP-powered Web3 gaming landscape.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
