The significant amount reflects the platform's dominance and its central role in the emerging industry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dataplus.kaiko.com\/asset\/cexvolume\">Data<\/a> from Kaiko shows that Binance is the largest crypto exchange by trading volume and controls more than 50% of the market.<\/p>\n<p>The milestone comes four months after Binance revealed its registered users had surpassed 200 million. Earlier in the year, the platform also disclosed that assets under its custody had crossed the $100 billion threshold.<\/p>\n<h2>The road to $100 trillion<\/h2>\n<p>Binance's journey to this trading volume has been anything but smooth, marked by legal challenges and regulatory scrutiny across multiple jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the exchange admitted to violations related to anti-money laundering, unlicensed money transmission, and sanctions. It agreed to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/binances-changpeng-zhao-pleads-guilty-to-money-laundering-comments-on-resignation\/\">pay $4.3 billion in fines<\/a> to US authorities, a payment that ranked among the largest corporate settlements in history.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath, Binance's founder <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/changpeng-zhao\/\">Changpeng Zhao<\/a> agreed to step down, pled guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act, and pay a $50 million fine. He is about to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/binance-co-founder-changpeng-zhao-to-be-released-from-us-custody-on-sept-29\/\">finish serving a four-month sentence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Zhao's <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/binances-new-chapter-begins-with-hefty-fines-and-compliance-commitments\/\">successor Teng<\/a> has pledged to usher in a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/binance-backed-tokocrypto-becomes-third-crypto-exchange-in-indonesia-to-secure-pfak-license\/\">new era of compliance<\/a> for Binance, although the company still faces hurdles. Despite these challenges, the platform has made strides, expanding its operations into new regions, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/binance-reappears-on-indian-app-stores-after-securing-key-fiu-ind-registration\/\">including India<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_RichardTeng\/status\/1838567951257186804\">added<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Through the highs and lows, Binance will keep building. Because our users only deserve the best.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Moreover, Binance co-founder Yi He also emphasized the exchange's renewed focus on serving a broader audience, stating:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Our goal is to make blockchain technology accessible to everyday people.
