{"id":452677,"date":"2024-11-13T00:00:48","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T00:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=452677"},"modified":"2024-11-12T21:51:40","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T21:51:40","slug":"ethereum-etfs-surge-after-us-election-approaching-positive-net-flows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ethereum-etfs-surge-after-us-election-approaching-positive-net-flows\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum ETFs surge after US election, approaching positive net flows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spot Ethereum (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">ETH<\/a>) exchange-traded funds (ETF) amassed $295.5 million in inflows on Nov. 11, their highest daily positive net flow since launch \u2014 bringing them $29 million away from positive net flows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Farside Investors <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/farside.co.uk\/ethereum-etf-flow-all-data\/\">data<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/fidelity-investments\/\">Fidelity's<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/fidelity-ethereum-fund\/\">FETH<\/a> led the inflows, registering $115.5 million, while <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/blackrock\/\">BlackRock\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/ishares-ethereum-trust-etf\/\">ETHA<\/a> recorded the second highest inflows at $101.1 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grayscale's <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/grayscale-ethereum-mini-trust\/\">Ethereum Mini Trust<\/a> saw the third highest inflows, with $63.3 million captured over the trading day.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sunny days ahead<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bloomberg senior ETF analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/eric-balchunas\/\">Eric Balchunas<\/a><\/span> highlighted<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/grayscale-investments\/\">Grayscale\u2019s<\/a> Ethereum Trust (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/grayscale-ethereum-trust\/\">ETHE<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1856346407856112115\">did not register<\/a> any outflows for the past six days, which he considered a sign that ETHE's unlocks are over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He added:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Sunny days ahead, altho still several country miles behind BTC ETFs..&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Balchunas added that while Ethereum ETFs still lag behind Bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) ETFs, their individual performance is noteworthy. <\/span>ETHA, for instance, ranks as the sixth-largest ETF launch by inflows in 2024 out of more than 600 new ETFs.<\/p>\n<h2>Institutional support fuels growth<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ETF Store CEO Nate Geraci pointed to a remarkable trend in Ethereum ETFs post-US election results, with over $500 million in inflows over just four days. One key factor behind this surge is increasing institutional adoption, such as the Michigan Retirement System\u2019s recent allocation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In its latest 13-F filing, the Michigan State pension fund revealed an <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/michigan-state-pension-fund-reports-11-million-exposure-to-ethereum-etfs\/\">$11 million<\/a> investment in Grayscale Ethereum ETFs during the third quarter, making it the first public pension fund to add Ethereum to its portfolio. Notably, the Michigan fund now holds more Ether than Bitcoin, with $7 million in Bitcoin exposure as of September 30.<\/p>\n<p>Balchunas also suggested that introducing options trading for Ethereum ETFs could accelerate inflows, attracting larger institutional investors. However, progress on this front may be slow.<\/p>\n<p>The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently delayed its decision on this matter, with some analysts, including Bloomberg's <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/james-seyffart\/\">James Seyffart<\/a><\/span>, predicting a final decision could take until April 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spot Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETF) amassed $295.5 million in inflows on Nov. 11, their highest daily positive net flow since launch \u2014 bringing them $29 million away from positive net flows.
