{"id":460204,"date":"2025-01-08T00:00:24","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T00:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=460204"},"modified":"2025-01-07T23:30:18","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T23:30:18","slug":"ripple-partners-with-chainlink-to-enhance-rlusd-stablecoin-with-secure-data-feeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripple-partners-with-chainlink-to-enhance-rlusd-stablecoin-with-secure-data-feeds\/","title":{"rendered":"Ripple partners with Chainlink to enhance RLUSD stablecoin with secure data feeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/ripple\/\">Ripple<\/a> has partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/chainlink\/\">Chainlink<\/a> to provide robust pricing data for its RLUSD stablecoin, according to a Jan. 7 <a href=\"https:\/\/ripple.com\/ripple-press\/ripple-adopts-the-chainlink-standard-to-further-rippleusd-utility-and-access-in-defi\/?utm_campaign=&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_source=twitter\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The integration introduces Chainlink's blockchain technology to Ripple's ecosystem, delivering secure and verifiable price feeds directly on <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">Ethereum's<\/a> network.<\/p>\n<p>RLUSD, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, was <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripple-to-begin-global-rollout-of-rlusd-stablecoin-on-dec-17\/\">launched in December<\/a> after securing approval from the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripple-secures-nydfs-greenlight-to-launch-rlusd-stablecoin\/\">New York Department of Financial Services<\/a> (NYDFS).<\/p>\n<p>According to CryptoQuant's data, it operates on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum and has a current market capitalization of $77 million.<\/p>\n<h2>Enhancing RLUSD for DeFi<\/h2>\n<p>DeFi applications require access to real-time, tamper-proof pricing to support stablecoin-based operations like trading and lending.<\/p>\n<p>Through Chainlink Price Feeds, Ripple ensures RLUSD benefits from accurate, volume-weighted price data collected from various on-chain and off-chain markets.<\/p>\n<p>The integration strengthens RLUSD's functionality across DeFi platforms by making reliable data accessible to developers.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration positions RLUSD for broad adoption by providing a solid foundation for its use in financial applications. Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, remarked:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The adoption of tokenized assets such as stablecoins will continue to accelerate in the coming years and having access to critical onchain data will accelerate the process.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Chainlink community liaison officer Zach Rynes, major DeFi protocols like Aave have already begun incorporating RLUSD into their ecosystems using Chainlink-powered data feeds.<\/p>\n<p>Ripple said it selected Chainlink for its proven ability to deliver secure, high-quality data through decentralized infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Jack McDonald, SVP of Stablecoin at Ripple, added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;By leveraging the Chainlink standard, we bring trusted data onchain, further strengthening RLUSD\u2019s utility across both institutional and decentralized applications.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chainlink's technology supports trillions of dollars in transaction value globally.
