Each share was priced at $85 and offered a 10% annual dividend.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy's STRF aimed initially to raise $500 million, but it surpassed the target by over 40% by raising $711 million.<\/p>\n<p>This latest issue does not allow conversion into common shares, unlike the company's previous STRK offering, which came with an 8% yield and conversion rights.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Park, head of alpha strategies at Bitwise, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/dgt10011\/status\/1903060207556522483\">pointed out<\/a> that investor appetite for STRF was driven by fixed income rather than exposure to Strategy's volatile stock.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the higher yield and improved pricing terms contributed to the stronger response, which contributed to STRF raising more funds than STRK.<\/p>\n<h2>Can Strategy sustain its Bitcoin-first model?<\/h2>\n<p>While the capital raise boosts Strategy's buying power, concerns about the company's ability to manage long-term obligations are growing.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/insights\/strategy-increases-bitcoin-holdings-to-499226-btc-with-small-10-7-million-purchase\/\">holds over 499,000 BTC<\/a>\u2014worth over $40 billion\u2014and has built its corporate identity around aggressive Bitcoin accumulation. However, its decision to avoid selling holdings has left the company with limited liquidity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/bitwise\/\">Bitwise<\/a> pointed out that this situation has led to a drop in liquidity ratios. Its cash ratio has fallen from 2.10 in 2019 to just 0.11 in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>However, Bitwise maintains that bankruptcy risk remains low. Even under a severe scenario\u2014Bitcoin dropping to $30,000 by September 2027\u2014the company would only need to liquidate about 7.3% of its Bitcoin to meet a $1.1 billion bond obligation.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Bitwise has suggested new strategies to strengthen the firm's cash flow. One recommendation involves lending half of its Bitcoin at a 4% annual return, which could generate enough income to cover interest payments and dividends.<\/p>\n<p>Another approach includes <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/metaplanet-leverages-put-options-to-grow-bitcoin-stash-with-nearly-24-btc\/\">covered call options,<\/a> a method already adopted by firms like Japan's <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/metaplanet\/\">Metaplanet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bitwise concluded that the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/new-fasb-rules-make-bitcoin-holdings-a-goldmine-for-corporate-earnings\/\">implementation of FASB<\/a> would allow Strategy to report its BTC holdings at their fair market value, which would:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Enable the company to reflect its Bitcoin holdings more accurately, leading to a higher reported book value and more transparent financials.
