REX Shares spot Solana<\/a> staking exchange-traded fund (ETF) is poised to become the first SOL ETF to begin trading in the United States, potentially as early as this week.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas<\/a> said on June 28 that the company\u2019s latest filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) indicates it is ready to go live.<\/p>\n

He wrote:<\/p>\n

“Rex also filed an updated prospectus, which totally filled in. Add it all up and it appears as though all systems go for imminent launch.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Additionally, he shared a screenshot of an internal email suggesting the SEC\u2019s comments have been addressed. He said:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they are good to launch, it looks like. Wow.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The proposed ETF, known as the REX-Osprey Solana staking ETF, is designed to track Solana\u2019s market performance while generating additional yield through onchain staking rewards.<\/p>\n

If approved, it would allow traditional investors to gain exposure to staking income without directly holding or managing digital assets themselves.<\/p>\n

ETF Store president Nate Geraci highlighted that REX Shares used an unconventional corporate structure for the fund, a C-corporation under the Investment Company Act of 1940, commonly known as the \u201c40 Act structure.\u201d<\/p>\n

This design sidesteps regulatory hurdles that have stalled other crypto staking ETF proposals under the standard 19b-4 filing process.<\/p>\n

He wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cLooks like [the SEC is] comfortable pushing forward with their creative \u201840 Act structure.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Geraci previously called this approach a \u201cregulatory end-around\u201d that avoids the ETF rule\u2019s restrictions on direct staking strategies.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst James Seyffart<\/a> echoed Geraci, noting that the structure is \u201cvery rare in the ETF world,\u201d giving REX Shares an edge as other providers continue waiting for SEC decisions on similar products<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Friday, REX Shares confirmed the product is \u201ccoming soon,\u201d calling it the \u201cfirst-ever staked crypto ETF\u201d in the U.S.<\/p>\n

The firm further stated:<\/p>\n

\u201cA new era of yield-generating crypto exposure is here.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Staking ETFs have been widely anticipated as the next frontier in crypto investment products. In March, BlackRock\u2019s head of digital assets, Robbie Mitchnick, described the firm\u2019s Ethereum<\/a> ETF as a \u201ctremendous success\u201d but acknowledged it was \u201cless perfect\u201d without staking.<\/p>\n
