{"id":489781,"date":"2025-07-16T10:25:22","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T09:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=489781"},"modified":"2025-07-16T10:45:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T09:45:17","slug":"ripple-lands-first-uae-custody-deal-as-dubai-digitizes-property-titles-on-xrpl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripple-lands-first-uae-custody-deal-as-dubai-digitizes-property-titles-on-xrpl\/","title":{"rendered":"Ripple lands first UAE custody deal as Dubai digitizes property titles on XRPL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/ripple\/\">Ripple<\/a> has entered a new partnership with Ctrl Alt to support the Dubai Land Department\u2019s (DLD) push to digitize property ownership using blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>According to a July 16 <a href=\"https:\/\/ripple.com\/ripple-press\/ripple-expands-global-custody-footprint-into-middle-east-with-ctrl-alt\/\">statement<\/a>, the collaboration brings Ripple\u2019s institutional-grade custody technology to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/dubai-chooses-xrp-ledger-to-power-new-real-estate-tokenization-initative\/\">DLD\u2019s real estate tokenization initiative<\/a>, where title deeds will be stored securely on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/xrp\/\">XRP<\/a> Ledger (XRPL).<\/p>\n<p>The news has had a significant impact on the XRP token, which is up by nearly 4% and is trading near the $3 threshold as of press time, according to <em>CryptoSlate<\/em> data.<\/p>\n<h2>Ripple's growing presence in UAE<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"1061\">This marks the first time a government body in the Middle East has issued real estate deeds on a public blockchain. Ripple\u2019s role is to ensure secure and scalable custody infrastructure, while Ctrl Alt provides local execution and support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"1061\">For Ripple, this is its first major custody deal in the UAE and part of its broader push across the region.<\/p>\n<p>Reece Merrick, Ripple\u2019s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Dubai Land Department\u2019s Real Estate Tokenization Project is a perfect example of the type of forward-thinking, innovative initiative that is positioning Dubai at the heart of the global digital asset industry&#8230;That the DLD has chosen the XRPL for this is really exciting and reinforces the XRPL\u2019s credentials as the blockchain of choice for serious financial use cases.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"2030\">The project has already launched a pilot phase in partnership with Ripple, Ctrl Alt, and Dubai\u2019s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority. It\u2019s part of a larger effort to digitize city services and expand blockchain use cases in real estate, finance, and public services.<\/p>\n<p>This deal builds on Ripple's growing momentum in the UAE, particularly after becoming the first blockchain payments provider licensed by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the firm has also <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripple-partners-with-major-uae-banks-to-integrate-xrp-into-payment-infrastructure\/\">partnered with Zand Bank and Mamo<\/a> to further cement its presence in the region.
