XRP<\/a> has hit a new all-time high of $3.65, driven largely by a spike in trading activity across South Korea and the United States.<\/p>\n

Data from CryptoSlate<\/em> shows that XRP ranked among the top five most traded digital assets over the past 24 hours, trailing only behind Bitcoin<\/a>, Ethereum<\/a>, and the stablecoins USDT<\/a> and USDC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

XRP recorded a total volume of $22 billion, surpassing the combined volume of all the top-10 non-stablecoin digital assets outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum.<\/p>\n

CoinMarketCap data confirms that this surge was heavily concentrated in South Korea and the US, with XRP accounting for over one-third of trades on Upbit, South Korea\u2019s largest crypto exchange.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the US, crypto analyst Dom highlighted<\/a> strong spot market activity, with notable buy pressure on major platforms such as Coinbase<\/a> and Kraken<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dom noted<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“We're seeing a clear wave of retail flood in. Unit bias is in full effect – XRP\u2019s lower price makes it psychologically more attractive.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

CoinMarketCap also confirmed that XRP led trading volume on these US platforms during the same period of its upward market run.<\/p>\n

Deepfake video surfaces<\/h2>\n

As XRP\u2019s price action grabs attention, scammers have moved quickly to exploit the moment.<\/p>\n

On July 18, a deepfake video<\/a> circulated on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), showing what appeared to be Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse<\/a> promoting a fake XRP giveaway.<\/p>\n

The video featured a convincing AI-generated impersonation of Garlinghouse, praising the community for its support in Ripple\u2019s ongoing legal battle with the US SEC. The impersonator then promised a 100 million XRP airdrop and directed viewers to visit a fraudulent website.<\/p>\n

Ripple\u2019s Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz<\/a> quickly debunked<\/a> the video, labeling it a scam and warning users that the clip was AI-generated and unaffiliated with the firm or its leadership. He also urged the community to stay vigilant against phishing attacks, which often coincide with market upswings.<\/p>\n

These schemes typically lure users with fake rewards and prompt them to enter sensitive wallet details, leading to theft.<\/p>\n

Notably, Garlinghouse has frequently spoken out<\/a> against such tactics. Last year, Ripple released an official warning featuring the CEO<\/a> to raise awareness about the growing use of deepfakes and impersonation scams in the crypto industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
