The incident halted block production for approximately one week, and the reopening remains incomplete.<\/p>\n<p>The project's <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.aelf.com\/posts\/aelf-recovery-update-key-services-are-back-online\">Sept. 14 recovery update<\/a> said both public nodes were available again, alongside the aelfscan explorer, FairyVault transfers, Awaken trading, Forest NFT browsing and the TMRW DAO staking interface. On Sept. 15, the <a href=\"https:\/\/aelf-public-node.aelf.io\/api\/blockChain\/chainStatus\">MainChain<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tdvv-public-node.aelf.io\/api\/blockChain\/chainStatus\">tDVV<\/a> status endpoints were reachable with advancing block heights, though those checks did not test whether users could submit transactions.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/aelfscan.io\/\">aelfscan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fairyvault.com\/\">FairyVault<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/awaken.finance\/\">Awaken<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/eforest.finance\/\">Forest<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tmrwdao.com\/network-dao\/vote\/election?chainId=AELF\">TMRW DAO<\/a> frontends were also reachable. Bithumb's <a href=\"https:\/\/m-feed.bithumb.com\/notice\/1654521\">updated notice<\/a> scheduled ELF deposits and withdrawals to restart on Sept. 14 at 14:00 KST. MEXC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mexc.com\/pt-BR\/announcements\/article\/mexc-completes-deposit-address-update-for-aelf-elf-17827791538248\">scheduled its resumption<\/a> for Sept. 5 and told users to generate new deposit addresses because previous ones were invalid. These announcements set venue schedules but do not prove live account-level availability.<\/p>\n<p>INDODAX's <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.indodax.com\/?p=36762\">Sept. 2 notice<\/a>, meanwhile, still described ELF wallet deposits and withdrawals as closed. Because that notice is dated, it may not reflect a later change in account access, reinforcing the need for users to check each venue before moving funds.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"cs-article-embed\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/stopping-a-blockchain-doesnt-always-recover-stolen-funds-what-actually-happened-when-3-networks-pulled-the-plug\/\" class=\"cs-article-embed__link\">\n        <div class=\"cs-article-embed__body\">\n            <span class=\"cs-article-embed__related-reading\">Related Reading<\/span>\n            <h3 class=\"cs-article-embed__title\">Stopping a blockchain doesn't always recover stolen funds &#8211; What actually happened when 3 networks pulled the plug<\/h3>\n        <\/div>\n        <span class=\"cs-article-embed__arrow\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n            <i class=\"fa-light fa-arrow-up-right\"><\/i>\n        <\/span>\n    <\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>The block-production pause also had a direct staking consequence. aelf said no network staking rewards were generated during the approximately one-week halt. Restoring the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/daos\/\">TMRW DAO interface<\/a> does not change that outcome: there are no network rewards from the halted period to claim.<\/p>\n<p>aelf's <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.aelf.com\/posts\/aelf-security-incident-response-progress-update-0826\">Aug. 26 incident update<\/a> said investigators had identified 155 transactions associated with the malicious activity, including 127 on AELF and 28 on tDVV. It also described five unique .NET assemblies capable of interacting with host systems and node-related keys and configuration, raising risks beyond the smart contracts themselves.<\/p>\n<p>aelf cautioned that those capabilities did not prove every payload executed, every targeted credential was obtained or data was successfully transmitted. Its evidence review had found no unauthorized transfers of ordinary users' assets or exposure of ordinary-user wallet keys as of Aug. 26, but that conclusion explicitly excluded unresolved node and infrastructure credential exposure.<\/p>\n<p>The full post-incident review, technical appendix and final root-cause assessment remain unpublished. aelf said those materials would follow after the remaining work, including an independent review, is complete.
