According to Bramanathan, the trading platform has been inundated with interest from\u00a0potential index fund investors:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen overwhelming interest from investors since we announced the fund earlier this year. At this stage, we have opened the fund to those who wish to invest $250,000 to $20M.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Accredited Status Presents Obstacle to Retail Investors<\/h2>\n<p>Coinbase\u2019s passively managed index fund offers investors the opportunity to access a simple method of investing in what Coinbase considers their preference in the current market for a 2% annual management fee. However, criteria required for an individual to be deemed an \u201caccredited investor\u201d is a high bar:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have earned income exceeding $200,000 (or $300,000 together with a spouse) over the last two years, and reasonably expect the same for the current year<\/li>\n<li>Possess a net worth over $1 million, either alone or together with a spouse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The index fund currently consists of the following four crypto assets, weighted by market capitalization as of May 1st, 2018:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bitcoin (BTC): <strong>58.47%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Ethereum (ETH): <strong>27.39%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Litecoin (LTC): <strong>3.41%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Bitcoin Cash (BCH): <strong>10.73%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The terms, as outlined by <a href=\"https:\/\/am.coinbase.com\/documents\/info.pdf\">official documentation<\/a>, set the minimum investment at $250,000, with a monthly subscription base and quarterly redemptions with 30 days notice. The fund is administered by <a href=\"https:\/\/mgstover.com\/\">MG Stover & Co.<\/a>,\u00a0a venture capital and hedge fund administration and accounting firm based in Denver and audited by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bdo.com\/\">BDO USA, LLP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Wider Range of Funds Coming Soon<\/h2>\n<p>While the requirements to invest may be beyond international investors, Coinbase announced their intent to release a range of other funds offering exposure to all assets on their platforms, which will soon include <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbase-announces-ethereum-classic-support\/\">Ethereum Classic<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cCoinbase Index Fund gives investors exposure to all assets on our exchange, which will soon include Ethereum Classic.
