Bitget, the world's largest Universal Exchange, is expanding its real-world asset (RWA) strategy beyond providing access to tokenized equities, focusing instead on the infrastructure needed to connect traditional securities with broader liquidity sources and additional financial services.
The initiative combines two components: Broker Interoperability, which provides a route for eligible securities held at external brokerages to enter Bitget's ecosystem, and Super Match, a framework designed to connect internal trading flows, market makers and multiple liquidity sources.
The exchange aims to make its rTokens, which represent eligible tokenized securities, more liquid and flexible to trade, including beyond conventional equity market hours where supported.
Actual trading availability and execution conditions will depend on individual assets, market liquidity and applicable product terms.
Brokerage transfer route for 3,000 stocks and ETFs
Broker Interoperability is the first layer of the framework. Its initial product, rToken Transfer, launched on October 13 and supports more than 3,000 eligible US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
The service allows users to transfer qualifying securities from external brokerage accounts into Bitget without first liquidating their holdings. Users initiate a Free of Payment (FOP) transfer to Bitget's designated Alpaca omnibus account.
After the securities are received and processed, Bitget's In-Kind Tokenization Network (ITN) converts them into corresponding rTokens, which are credited to the user's spot account.
The process is designed to simplify the transition from traditional equity holdings to tokenized assets by reducing manual conversion requirements.
"The next phase of tokenization will be defined by the infrastructure that allows assets and liquidity to move across markets," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. "Providing access to tokenized equities was a key starting point. Now we're focused on connecting existing brokerage assets with deeper liquidity and more flexible ways to deploy capital. Broker Interoperability creates a pathway for those assets to enter our ecosystem, while Super Match is designed to improve how liquidity and price discovery function once they're there. This is central to our Universal Exchange vision of bringing traditional and digital assets together within a unified trading ecosystem, where capital can move move efficiently across asset classes. Our longer-term goal is to make tokenized equities more useful to both institutional and retail participants, including through broader collateral and capital-management applications."
The initiative forms part of Bitget's Universal Exchange strategy, which seeks to bring traditional financial instruments and digital assets into a unified trading ecosystem.
Super Match targets deeper liquidity and broader asset utility
The second component, Super Match, is designed to coordinate Bitget's internal trading flows with market-maker participation and other liquidity sources.
The objective is to improve execution and price discovery as participation in tokenized equities grows, rather than relying exclusively on a single traditional market venue.
The framework could help support trading outside conventional equity market sessions where the relevant products permit it. However, broader trading hours do not guarantee consistent liquidity or prices equivalent to those of the underlying securities in their primary markets.
Bitget also intends to expand the potential uses of rTokens across its ecosystem. Depending on the asset and supported functionality, tokenized securities may be used for spot trading, margin-related services, borrowing and lending, earn products and, as the infrastructure develops, collateral applications. Availability will remain subject to asset eligibility, regional restrictions and product terms.
The strategy builds on the growth of Bitget's rToken ecosystem through Reality, its RWA issuance platform. By July 6, rToken assets under management had reached approximately $114 million, while cumulative transactions had exceeded two million.
