Bitget, the world’s largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has launched a demo account for its CFD trading service, giving users a way to explore traditional and cryptocurrency markets without risking real capital.

The account starts with 10,000 USDT in virtual funds and is available through the exchange's website and mobile app.

The feature allows traders to simulate positions across multiple asset classes using live market quotes. Users can adjust their virtual balances at any time, making it possible to test strategies with different account sizes and observe how market movements affect their positions.

The demo account becomes available after users accept Bitget's CFD terms, without an additional know-your-customer (KYC) or know-your-business (KYB) verification step specifically for activation.

The simulated environment is designed to help users understand CFD trading mechanics, including spreads, overnight financing charges, leverage, margin requirements and liquidation rules. It supports both Electronic Communication Network (ECN) and 0-Fee trading modes, allowing users to explore different fee structures.

More experienced traders can also use API integration to test automated strategies before considering their use in live markets.

According to Bitget, the demo account uses the same live quotes, leverage rules and liquidation logic as its live CFD product. However, simulated results do not guarantee equivalent outcomes in live trading, where execution conditions and the financial consequences of losses can differ.

"When entering a new market, understanding price movements is only part of the learning curve. Traders also need to understand the new trading mechanics, terminology and risk management involved," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. "The Demo Account runs on the same quotes, leverage rules and liquidation logic as live trading, so traders can learn how CFDs and risk management work with none of their capital at stake."

Demo account expands Bitget's CFD infrastructure

The demo account sits alongside Bitget's live CFD trading environment, allowing users to switch between simulated and live trading with a single tap. Traders can transfer their approach to the live environment for further testing without disturbing existing live positions.

The launch follows several additions to Bitget's CFD infrastructure this year, including dynamic leverage, tiered margin management, CFD sub-accounts and an extension of the platform's Open API to CFD markets.

These features form part of Bitget's Universal Exchange (UEX) strategy, which brings cryptocurrency and traditional financial market exposure into a single platform.

By adding simulated trading, the exchange is seeking to make its CFD offering more accessible to users who may be unfamiliar with instruments such as forex and commodity contracts.

CFDs allow traders to speculate on price movements without directly owning the underlying asset. They can involve leverage, which magnifies both potential gains and losses. Bitget's demo account provides a way to explore these mechanics in a simulated setting before using real funds.
