BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Oct. 20, 2026 — ViaBTC, a leading global cryptocurrency mining pool, supported an on-campus Bitcoin education event at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) on October 19. Organized by ONG Bitcoin Argentina, a local nonprofit, the morning session brought together around 140 students to learn about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency mining.

The event forms part of Bitcoin in Universities (Bitcoin en las Universidades), a program offering free courses to university communities across Argentina. Earlier sessions have taken place at several institutions, including Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and Universidad Católica de Córdoba (UCC). UADE was the second-to-last stop in the series, with two final sessions scheduled at Universidad de Belgrano (UB).
By supporting the program, ViaBTC aims to bring practical industry knowledge to students beginning to explore Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
Introducing Bitcoin and Blockchain Through Familiar Concepts
The session opened with an illustrated overview of the evolution of money, linking everyday payment methods to Bitcoin. Instructors then introduced Bitcoin's key characteristics and the fundamentals of blockchain to give students a starting point for understanding the technology.
Other topics included cryptocurrency exchanges and mining hardware. A demonstration of on-chain data showed how anyone can look up records on the blockchain, putting the concepts discussed into concrete terms.
Students were highly engaged, asking questions and interacting with the instructors throughout the session.
Making Infrastructure Knowledge Accessible
The mining topics covered at UADE relate directly to ViaBTC's experience operating infrastructure for Bitcoin and other proof-of-work (PoW) networks. Over the past decade, the company's team has developed expertise in blockchain protocols and distributed systems through work ranging from node deployment and protocol integration to block propagation and ongoing maintenance. These capabilities underpin the company's mining services.
For students, this operational perspective provides context for the hardware and network data introduced in class. It helps explain how hashrate, software and nodes work together, and what it takes to keep blockchain infrastructure running reliably. Working with local educators helps ViaBTC adapt this knowledge for learners without a technical background.
At UADE, ViaBTC also shared Cryptocurrency Mining 101, an introductory handbook developed specifically for Spanish-speaking readers. The handbook explains mining and broader blockchain concepts in clear, beginner-friendly Spanish. Students can use it to review what they learned in class and dig deeper into topics that interest them after the event.
Building an Ongoing Educational Partnership
The UADE event builds on several months of collaboration across Argentine campuses. ViaBTC made the university program part of its tenth-anniversary activities earlier this year and has continued its support as the program expanded to more campuses. In addition to serving miners across Latin America, the company contributes to local education by sharing technical expertise with students and supporting the educators who work with them.
Free courses offer an entry point for students with limited prior exposure to the subject, while Spanish-language resources help them keep learning at their own pace. Through this partnership, ViaBTC aims to help students understand the technology, assess its risks and build a foundation for further independent study.
Next Stop: UB
The program will next visit UB for two in-person sessions on October 27 and November 2. Both will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. local time and are open to the public.
The sessions will take place at Auditorio Roca (Basement Level 1), Zabala 1837, Buenos Aires. Further details and registration are available on the event page.
