Franklin Bitcoin ETF About

The Franklin Bitcoin ETF (EZBC) is a U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded product from Franklin Templeton. It began trading on Cboe BZX on January 11, 2024 and holds Bitcoin to provide exposure to its price, less the expenses of operating the fund.

Fees

EZBC's annual sponsor fee is 0.19%. Its launch promotion waived fees on the first $10 billion of assets only until August 2, 2024. That expired offer is not the fund's ongoing fee.

The annual charge is separate from trading costs. Brokerage commissions, if applicable, and the bid-ask spread can affect the cost of entering or exiting a position.

Ownership and Risks

An investor holds fund shares through a brokerage account rather than Bitcoin in a personal wallet. Ordinary retail shares do not provide access to the trust's private keys or a right to withdraw coins.

EZBC remains exposed to Bitcoin volatility, custody risks and differences between market price and net asset value. It is not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

Our EZBC review covers the fund's fees, structure and shareholder limits.
