Bitwise Ethereum ETF About

The Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW) is a spot Ethereum exchange-traded product listed on NYSE Arca. It holds ether and provides price exposure through shares that investors can buy and sell in a brokerage account.

How ETHW Works

ETHW seeks to reflect the value of its ether holdings, less fund expenses. It does not stake its ether. Retail shareholders trade exchange-listed shares and cannot withdraw the fund’s ether to a personal wallet.
ETHW is distinct from Bitwise’s private Ethereum fund. The listed ETF is not limited to accredited investors, and its retail shares trade on the exchange rather than through weekly private-fund subscriptions and redemptions.

Fees and Risks

The annual sponsor fee is 0.20%. Brokerage charges and bid/ask spreads can add to trading costs. Investors remain exposed to ether price losses and custody risks, and the market price of a share can differ from net asset value.
